Driving global growth through innovation and strategic expansion
AML3D has always been at the forefront of innovation, driving the adoption of advanced additive manufacturing technology that disrupts traditional methods and unlocks new possibilities. Over the past few years, our pivot toward becoming a leading provider of Wire Additive Manufacturing (WAM®) systems has set the stage for remarkable growth. With the development of our ARCEMY® additive manufacturing systems and proprietary software solutions, WAMSoft® and AMLSoft™, we are transforming how industries approach production and supply chain challenges.
This growth trajectory reached a critical milestone with our successful entry into the US market, underscored by high-profile contracts from the US Navy via BlueForge Alliance. These engagements validate our cutting-edge technology and our strategy of aligning with key partners to address the specific needs of high-value sectors such as defence, maritime, aerospace, oil, gas and energy.
Embracing the power of wire additive manufacturing
At its core, AML3D’s mission is to harness the potential of wire additive manufacturing to address complex industrial challenges. Unlike traditional casting and subtractive manufacturing methods, WAM builds parts layer-by-layer from a digitally designed model. This approach minimises material waste, reduces energy consumption, and allows for faster production cycles — all while achieving superior strength and durability in the final product.
Our proprietary ARCEMY systems represent the culmination of years of innovation and refinement. These machines integrate seamlessly with our advanced WAMSoft and AMLSoft platforms, enabling precise, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing processes. Together, these technologies empower manufacturers to deliver parts more efficiently and sustainably, addressing critical needs across sectors such as defence, aerospace, and oil and gas.
AML3D’s contracts with the US Navy, collaborating with BlueForge Alliance, highlighted the versatility and capability of our ARCEMY systems to meet the defence sector’s exacting standards. The trust placed in AML3D by one of the world’s most elite customers underscores the robustness of our technology and its potential.
This milestone has also been a springboard for further growth. The US Navy’s focus on achieving and maintaining operational readiness, reducing lead times, and enhancing supply chain resilience through sovereign capability aligns perfectly with the strengths of our WAM and ARCEMY technology.
Importantly, our work in the US encompasses two streams: the manufacture of operating parts to support the production and sustainment of the submarine program and the sale of our ARCEMY systems to the defence and wider contracting supply chain. This second stream is critical as it builds advanced 3D printing and manufacturing capacity using AML3D technology across the broader manufacturing network.
Our presence in the US has also opened doors to broader opportunities, including potential collaborations with other defence and maritime stakeholders. These relationships will be vital as we continue to scale our operations and contribute to global initiatives such as AUKUS.
Supporting AUKUS and the Submarine Industrial Base
The AUKUS agreement underscores the need for technological collaboration and innovation to strengthen the submarine industrial base and enhance regional security. AML3D’s Wire Additive Manufacturing process is uniquely positioned to support these objectives.
Submarine component production presents significant challenges due to their complexity, precision, and durability. Traditional manufacturing methods often lead to extended lead times and supply chain vulnerabilities. Our ARCEMY systems address these issues by enabling near-to-source, on-demand production of high-quality parts. This not only accelerates project timelines but also reduces reliance on global supply chains, enhancing national sovereignty in defence manufacturing.
Moreover, our technology contributes to the broader sustainability goals embedded within AUKUS. By minimising material waste and energy consumption, AML3D provides a greener alternative to traditional manufacturing processes, aligning with the global push toward net-zero emissions.
AML3D is now developing a market entry playbook based on the strategies and lessons learned from our US experience. This playbook will guide our efforts as we target the UK and European markets, where we see significant potential in the aerospace, defence, maritime, and oil and gas sectors.
The UK’s naval and defence sectors, in particular, are ripe for innovation. With a strong focus on modernising fleets and infrastructure, there is a growing demand for advanced manufacturing solutions that deliver speed, precision, and sustainability. Similarly, the European Union’s emphasis on energy security and sustainability aligns well with the benefits of WAM technology for the oil and gas industry.
As we enter these markets, we will focus on forging strong local partnerships, tailoring our solutions to meet regional requirements, and demonstrating the tangible benefits of adopting ARCEMY systems. Our goal is to replicate our success in the U.S., establishing AML3D as a trusted partner for industries looking to embrace the future of manufacturing.
Looking ahead
AML3D’s journey is one of continuous evolution and innovation. As we look to the future, we remain committed to our customer-centric approach, innovation and creativity in solving our customers’ challenges. By leveraging the power of WAM, we aim to redefine what is possible in manufacturing, delivering faster, greener, and more adaptable solutions to the needs of a changing world.
The opportunities ahead are boundless, and AML3D is ready to meet them with the same drive and determination that have brought us this far. Together with our partners and customers, we are building a future where advanced additive manufacturing is a possibility and a reality.
