Generate22 has announced a new partnership with leading Melbourne-based manufacturer ANCA in the lead-up to the inaugural Generate22 Robotics and AI conference, which will take place in March 2022.

Event organiser Nicci Rossouw of Exaptec Robotics says the recognition and support of innovative businesses such as ANCA play a vital role in the growth and development of the robotics industry here in Australia.

“Since its inception back in 1974, ANCA has consistently proven how the embrace of new and emerging technology can provide businesses with an edge over their competition,” says Rossouw. “To have the support of world-beating companies such as ANCA underpins the potential for Australia to continue to take a leadership role in the development of cutting-edge robotics and AI technology. And this is what Generate22 is all about; sharing, educating, collaborating and growing the industry right here in Australia.”

ANCA co-founder Pat Boland says the company chose to support Generate22 in response to the need to foster an understanding and interest in STEM subjects, while also building capacity in these areas.

“We are so proud of what we are achieving with ANCA, building a world-class advanced manufacturing company that designs and implements much of our own technology in-house,” says Boland. “However, this has only been possible because we have had the brightest of minds here in Bayswater who love the challenge of forging new developments in the area of robotics, automation and software, among others.

“We export precision machine tools to the rest of the world. Our customers are the world leaders in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics and medical industries. The products made on our machines underpin advanced manufacturing around the world. For ANCA to continue to thrive we need local talent and expertise in our exciting field. We need to foster and celebrate our own engineering skills so that Australia can continue to take on the world market and win.”

Generate22 is a two-day robotics and AI conference where industry, educators and enthusiasts can share ideas and knowledge to help inspire the next generation of tech gurus. The event will host representatives from leading robotics companies to showcase the latest developments in the fields of robotics and AI. The conference component of the event will feature talks from leading figures in both industry and academia. Representatives from universities and other training institutes will also be present to discuss related courses with prospective students.

Generate22 will take place on 30-31 March 2022 at the Yarra Valley Tech School.
