The Victorian State Government has issued Mandatory Vaccination Directions that will come into effect this Friday regarding COVID-19 vaccine requirements for workers in the state.
The Mandatory Vaccination Directions follow an announcement by Premier Daniel Andrews on 1 October. The new regulations apply to select workers (previously referred to as authorised workers), except those in the specific industry groups of healthcare, aged care, construction and education. Under the new directions, employers must not permit workers to work (other than from home) unless certain conditions are met regarding their vaccine status by the end of this Friday 15 October.
