Peter is the Managing Director of Sutton Tools, a proudly Australian, family-owned precision cutting tools manufacturer established in 1917. He joined the business in the mid 1990s after gaining external experience and has since driven its evolution through roles in quality assurance, factory supervision, logistics, operations, and eventually senior leadership.

He has been instrumental in fostering R&D innovation by launching initiatives such as a “Smart Manufacturing Centre” in partnership with Swinburne University, and by expanding Sutton Tools’ certification and global reach.

Peter has been on the AMTIL Board for 6 years where he currently serves as President.

 

Mr Phil Bowles

Phil is an experienced manufacturing executive and company director with over 40 years in the industry. As former Chief Operating Officer of SPEE3D, he led global operations in metal additive manufacturing following three decades of leadership at ANCA Pty Ltd, including as Global Engineering Manager. A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Phil has served on the Board of AMTIL for 2 years and chairs its Finance, Remuneration and Risk Committee.

Ms Lorraine Maxwell

Lorraine comes with a wealth of experience in an industry membership peak body and the not-for-profit sector, having spent the past 15 years with AusBiotech, an Australian biotechnology industry organisation.

Ms Annaliese Kloe

Annaliese is General Manager for NSAW, EPM, and Field Service Management at Oracle, with over 20 years’ leadership in enterprise software, field service, and manufacturing technology.

Formerly founder and CEO of Next Technik (NextService), now part of Oracle, she continues to champion digital transformation for global customers. As Executive Chairman of Headland Technology, Annaliese has driven business growth and innovation in Australia’s advanced manufacturing sector.

She is also a co-founder and board member at Klugo and has been on the AMTIL Board for 9 years

Ms Johanna Boland

Johanna, Group Strategy and Communications Manager at ANCA, has over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing, and corporate communications. She has spent the past eight years at ANCA—a global leader in CNC tool grinding technology—driving growth strategies, building brand equity, and leading global communications initiatives. Johanna has previously held senior roles with Amcor, Hiscox, City of Melbourne, and Coles Myer, where she delivered transformative campaigns and strengthened market presence.

Johanna has served on the AMTIL Board since 2023.

Mr Paul Philips

Benson Machines Pty Ltd

Paul took on the role of managing director at Benson Machines in 1988 which supplies and supports a wide range of leading-edge manufacturing technologies, sourced from around the world.

In 2006 Benson became involved with Rail Track Maintenance machinery, which resulted in the formation of Autech Rail Australia Pty Ltd in 2016.

Paul’s network of contacts extends globally throughout the manufacturing, finance and internet communities.

Paul was the Chairman of the Australian Machine Tool Association, which was incorporated into AMTIL in 1999.  He has been a Board member of AMTIL almost continuously for 26 years and is now one of 6 Honorary Life Members.

Mr Joshua Wigley

Hyperion Systems 

Joshua is the Founder and CEO of Hyperion Systems, an Australian advanced manufacturing company specialising in large-format additive manufacturing and robotic production systems. He has led the development of containerised, deployable manufacturing cells and high-throughput 3D printing platforms serving defence, maritime, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

He has been recognised as a Forbes Australia 30 Under 30 honouree in Technology for his contributions to next-generation manufacturing systems.

Mr Jeremy Satchell

BAE Systems

Jeremy has over 20 years’ experience across Australia’s defence ecosystem, spanning both military service and senior industry leadership roles.

In industry, Jeremy has worked as a supply chain consultant within State Government and now leads BAE Systems Australia’s Industry Capability function. In this role, he is responsible for strengthening Australian manufacturing and SME participation across BAE’s global supply chains, with a focus on supplier uplift, capability development, and long-term competitiveness.

He continues to serve as an Army Reservist with the 16th Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, and is a committed supporter of veteran affairs.

Mr Carl Quarterman

Carl is the Owner and Managing Director of Queensland Gaskets, an Australian third-generation family manufacturing business established in 1953, and OSAAP Australia, acquired in 2024.

An experienced Manufacturing and Supply Chain professional, Carl possesses strong management, financial, operational, and analytical skills. He developed his leadership capabilities over his career, and gaining extensive supply chain knowledge. With over a decade running an Australian Manufacturing SME, Carl is a strong advocate for Australian manufacturing, having served on a variety of advisory committees to local and State governments.
