Founded in 1919, G.A. & L. Harrington Pty. Ltd. is a privately owned family company. From its inception the company has specialised in manufacturing pressed metal products and assemblies.

Our plant comprises an extensive range of presses from 10 to 1000 tonnes capacity, together with resistance welders, MIG robot welders, pulley forming machines and electrostatic wet paint and powder coating lines. Coil handling and feed lines are capable of processing up to 12mm thick material.

The company operates a modern, well equipped toolmaking facility for tool design, manufacture and maintenance of new and existing tools. All tools are designed, fabricated and serviced by our team of specialist tool-makers, with up-to-date CNC equipment utilised to produce precise and efficient press tools.

The combination of proven expertise and technology has enabled the company to win contracts for complex metal pressings and fabrication projects in the very competitive ‘global marketplace’.

What We Do

Innovation, design and manufacturing solutions have always played a large part in the continued success of the company. In 1998 we were awarded the contract for the design and manufacture of the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Torches. This resulted in the production of 14,000 Olympic Torches, 1,000 Paralympic Torches and 200 Community Cauldrons.

Research and development has always been an integral part of the company’s activities, with the aim of providing customers with products at less cost than those available through traditional manufacturing methods.

In 1987 our innovative approach to design and manufacture was recognised when we received the BHP Steel Award – Industrial Category for our revolutionary poly-vee pulley forming process. This process enables a single piece poly-vee pulley to be formed from one piece of light gauge steel using ‘spin’ technology, with no machining process employed at all.
