Established 1956 by Herbert Down, Plastool was a pioneer in the plastics and mould making industry. Business grew, and Plastool was soon providing solutions to the world’s leading companies in the plastics & automotive industries. Herbert Down’s sons Gary & Andrew have carried the company forward, currently serving as executive directors.After serving the plastics industry for half a century, Plastool has now expanded it’s 3D machining expertise to provide precision engineering & tooling solutions to the wider manufacturing industry.
Plastool understands their customers’ needs for reliable, timely supply, and has invested in the development of their own unique job-scheduling software system, ensuring the most efficient and reliable production and job costing. For the customer this ensures the most efficient production and accurate job costing while meeting all product deadlines.From its humble beginnings in Box Hill, Plastool has since expanded into a purpose-built 1600 square meter facility in Mordialloc, in Melbourne’s southest. The factory was officially opened in April 2003 by then State Minister for Manufacturing & Export the Honourable Tim Holding.
